Introduction
Hi, I'm Omkar Patel - a Computer Science student specializing in Cybersecurity at MIT World Peace University, Pune. I work across the full stack, from designing clean interfaces in Figma to building robust backends with Node.js, Flask, and PostgreSQL.
What started as curiosity about how websites work turned into a deep interest in systems thinking - understanding not just how code runs, but how people interact with it. That intersection of engineering and design is where I do my best work.
Journey
I discovered my Passion for Design long before high school. My actual journey began in 7th and 8th grade, inspired by the boom of YouTube tutorials - I even started my own channel, learning video editing, photo editing, and creative skills.
By 9th grade, I got my first real opportunity: preparing a PowerPoint for an Earth Day event in April 2019. Competing against 12th-grade seniors, I had just three months to prove myself. That project earned recognition from teachers, who soon made me the lead designer for multiple school events, including Cultural programs, World Post Day, and Children’s Day. I immersed myself in it, often working through the night, developing a strong sense of visual storytelling and design aesthetics.
In college, I combined this design sensibility with full-stack development. I started exploring projects where I could apply my UI/UX skills while building functional systems. Over time, I realized my skill set naturally aligns with Full-stack developmentand UI/UX Design. I’m still exploring, learning, and refining my craft - driven by the desire to create polished, seamless products that users enjoy interacting with.
